Seeing as how Bari is located near Naples, you definitely need to make sure you take the lovely quick drive to the ancient city. This 2 and half hour drives take you directly over the spine of Italy along the A14 and E55. Along the way, you’ll pass forest and rolling hills. The drive is well worth it and the final destination of Naples is quite incredible. Naples was founded in the 6th and 7th centuries BC by Greeks and has one of the largest historical centres in the entire world, making it earn its title as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It also holds a world record from having around 448 historical churches – the most churches in any city. However, the drive itself is quite lovely as well, so make sure you take it slow and enjoy the ride!

Alberobello is another relatively close city which also has interesting architecture, as it has huts that are from the 14th century. With so many historic and lovely places just a short drives away from Bari, you’ll certainly understand quite quickly why so many people are adding this lovely city to their ‘bucket list!’
